  • Attend General Assemblies where our regular business is discussed and planned. We meet on Fridays and Sundays at 7:00 PM at Hulme Park in Poughkeepsie (at Market and Church Streets), unless weather dictates otherwise. Check Facebook if in doubt.
  • Participate in a Working Group.
  • Take part in discussions on Facebook.
  • Join us in local actions.

It was agreed by temperature check that Sunday GAs should from now on take place in the park, weather permitting.

Reoccupation: Several people planned to occupy Hulme Park that night, marking the 6 month anniversary of the initial occupation. A police response was expected. It was proposed that the park be cleaned up. There was some discussion about whether to set up tents or not.

The New Jim Crow: Lecture Series and Community Read on Issues of Race and Imprisonment in the United States

The Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Library is teaming up with Occupy Poughkeepsie to sponsor a lecture series and community read organized around The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness, a New York Times bestselling book about the mass incarceration rates of African Americans in the contemporary United States.  The group will meet at the Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Library every other week on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm from March 14-May 23.

Support Our Neighbors at Occupy Rockland!!

Occupy Rockland will participate in a

national non-violent direct action

calling attention to the American Legislative Exchange Council.
